On Mount Skounthi in the Arachnaio mountain range, east of the pass leading to Ligourio lie the remains of the Frankish fort Gyklos. The dry stone wall consists of roughly dressed stones where the intermediate spaces have been filled with smaller stones, probably built around 1220. |

The barren landscape has its own charm and even if the walls of the fort are not too impressive there are spectacular views up to the sea with islands, one of which could be Aegina. |
